On September 17, 1787, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign the document they had created. All 12 states approved of the new Constitution. 39 of the 42 delegates signed the final document. George Mason, our namesake, notably abstained, insisting on the addition of a Bill of Rights.
In celebration of the Constitution of the United States and in accordance with Title IV of the Higher Education Act (HEA), George Mason University is pleased to offer our students a variety of constitutional education and engagement opportunities throughout the year and on Constitution Day, September 17th.

Join Student Media as we help the Mason community celebrate the signing of the U.S. Constitution. The event will be located at The Hub and we’ll have FREE PIZZA, prizes, games, trivia, and more! All students, faculty and staff are all welcome to attend.
